Sophia is the owner and operator of “Sophie's Sophistries”. She hates being called “Sophie”, despite her shop name. When asked about it, she insists that “Sophie's Sophistries” simply rolled off the tongue well, but she despises that diminutive of her name.
The name of her shop is indicative of her mentality. Although she sells Arts (crystals with unique functions in The Unda), she's highly skeptical about anything mystical. She insists that she inherited the shop from her grandmother, who believed that crystals have an inherent ability to heal or hurt people. While she never believed the same thing, she was surprised to discover that The Unda gave some credence to her grandmother's beliefs. In that sense, “Sophie's Sophistries” is a sarcastic name, as a sophistrie is something that seems one way but is actually another.
In keeping with her shop name, Sophia tends to use loaded questions or prompts while speaking with other people in order to test their preconceptions, typically diagreeing with the obvious conclusion that her statements elicit. In that sense, she's very hard to read at first, but gets easier to read as the player gets to know her better. Ironically, her questline involves her learning to be more trusting of people and, thus, being more honest and straightforward.
In combat, she uses the Trap vibe to cause AoE status effects, debuffs, and damage from a distance. Her equipment determines the types and potency of her attacks.
